Alex's triathlon competition took us all the way to Colonial beach, a rocky beach near a State park where we go camping with friends and family every year. Bike rides, s'mores, and tick bites were all in order. It's such a fun and easy trip to enjoy with the kids. Their favorite part, or mine, is to hunt for ancient shark teeth along the Potomac. This year we found seven! Here is a bit of our camping photography for my weekly photo challenge.
It is time to kick off Summer with lots of pool time in the sunshine. Last Sunday the little guy finally got the courage to put his face under water. Quickly the goggles were in place, the floaties were put aside and he started his swim quest by saying: "- Mama, if I go under, you go under." And we did, over and over and over and over again.
Cloudy skies and a very wet weekend made it quite a challenge to take some great shots for this week's photo challenge. Below are the best three I could get from each kid. Did you manage to take any photos last week? I have challenged myself to take one picture of the kids every week. If you want to join the challenge post your kids photos on IG and tag #weeklyphotowithtrendypeas so I can see your photos. Random moments, theme portraits, playground photography, weekend scenes, anything works.
I love seeing a glimpse of the world through my kids' eyes. As we got off the cab in New York City, Marcus could not contain his excitement as he watched all the lights in Times Square. His words: "Wow, is this Tokyo?" Here are the portraits for week 11 of 52. All of the New York photos below were taken with my iPhone.
Here we are at week number 9 of my photo challenge. I captured some very last minute shots AGAIN on Sunday afternoon. We had a great time this weekend, with great weather, but the kids and I missed Alex most of the time. He had left us for Arizona on Wednesday. We panicked between piano lessons, basketball game, and birthday parties. But he hurried back home on Sunday night and we were all so thrilled! Here are the portraits from our weekend scenes.
This photo challenge is way more challenging than I thought. It turns out I don't take my camera out enough times to capture photos of our family on a weekly basis. Which is not surprising at all. But maybe, if I keep up with the weekly photo challenge… All the photos from this week were taken with my iPhone and edited with Whitagram. I love to use my iPhone to edit photos. Which apps do you use to edit your photos? My favorites are Whitagram and Afterlight.
Last week's photo challenge was more of a personal challenge than a photo skills challenge. With temperatures ranging from 7 to 19 degrees Fahrenheit, I guess my challenge was to see how many times I would remove my fuzzy and warm gloves to capture little memories in a beautiful winter wonderland. Our weekend getaway was a very cold one. We headed to the ski slopes at Wintergreen with family and friends for a busy weekend packed with lots of snow and plenty of snowboarding/skiing action. Bela and Marcus have now mastered their snowboarding skills while the little guy has just started. Here are the best photos I captured from each one of them. 1:: Victor with his toys seeing skiers get on and off the lift 2:: Marcus goofing around on the snow 3:: Bela on her board getting ready to go down the slope Do you like to take pictures? Random moments, or theme portraits, anything works. Xo, Patchi
This weekend we celebrated 80's style. The best theme to get kid's portraits might just be an 80's portrait session. All that abundance of color plus the great lighting we had on Saturday afternoon made it easy to get some good shots of the kids. Perhaps we should start dressing like the 80's, no? 1:: Bela making a wish for her 80's theme birthday party 2:: Marcus playing four square in 80's fashion 3:: Victor dancing to 80's music Do you like to take pictures? I have challenged myself to take one picture of the kids every week. If you want to join the challenge post your kids photos on IG and tag #weeklyphotowithtrendypeas so I can see your photos. Random moments, or theme portraits, like this 80's portrait from Bela's party or a black and white session like the portraits from this week here. Anything works. Xo, Patchi
What a weekend! Non-stop activities and many celebrations. On Sunday, we got to enjoy temperatures reaching the seventies. That little taste of Spring was so nice. While the kids were playing outside I grabbed my camera and snapped a few photos. I always treasure moments without organized play. Here are a few of them. 1:: Marcus doing flips on the trampoline 2:: Bela exploring and daydreaming 3:: Victor making a run for mommy Do you like to take pictures? I have challenged myself to take one picture of the kids every week. If you want to join the challenge post your kids photos on IG and tag #weeklyphotowithtrendypeas so I can see your photos. I am challenging myself to take more and way better pictures of the kids in 2016. Every year, I have a photo album done with our family's best photos and moments. As I was putting this year's album together the other day, I felt a little short on "good" pictures. So I decided to invest some time in taking and archiving kids photography. The photo challenge is one portrait per week of the kids. That means I will have 52 photos of each one of them by the end of the year. When I look at it this way, the 52 actually sounds like a lot, but I am up for the challenge. What about you? Do you want to participate in this little project with me? If you want to share your photos, post them on Instagram and tag them with "weeklyphotowithtrendypeas". I would love to see your photos. Cheers to a great year with great photography!
