It is freebie time. With Mother's day approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to design some mother's day cards for some FREE download action. Below are three 5x7" funky and colorful cards designed for your mama. What do you think? Pick your favorite one, click on it to download it, print it out on a nice card stock paper, and gift your mom with something really special. I think I might send one to myself with a 30 minute pass to uninterrupted time in the bathroom. Are you lacking privacy from your kids too? I am not at all worried about the privacy part, but sometimes you got to go and I prefer to go ALONE! I am not sure why I even bother closing the door. And when the lock is on, the banging starts! Happy Friday! Xo, Patchi PS: Are you following us on IG. Well, why not? Click here to follow and you too can get 10% off your next purchase.

Today I am showcasing two new designs we just launched for the Home Collection. Both designs are all in black and white. I find it so easy to dress up a wall with black and white wall decor. The monochrome designs can work well alone as well as in a group. Who is not a fan of a gallery wall all done in black and white art, right? The squares print below comes in three different sizes and is available framed or unframed. Here in this neutral space, the squares print design helps add just a little bit of character to the wall. Very simple and elegant. I also worked on another piece called Broken Heart. Less abstract and more graphic, this design feels more personal. This print is also available in three different sizes. And it can be framed or not. This design can work well in any room, from the living room to the playroom. I am thinking that I should turn this into a wall decal. What do you think?

We have been talking about this chandelier for such a long time. It has probably been two years since we decided we needed/wanted it, until the time we hung it up last Sunday. It turns out I have some very talented and artistic men in my family. One of them being my brother-in-law, Rique, owner and co-founder of Tomada. Tomada is a company that specializes in unique, modern, and eclectic lighting. From chandelier, to floor lamps and more, all of Tomada's items are handmade in Brazil, by my brother-in-law and his business partner. So, when Rique and his wife Paula flew from Brazil for a two-week visit, we gathered together and watched him as he planned our very own custom chandelier by Tomada. Once we settled on his idea, Alex and Rique hit HomeDepot and Yukon, our favorite local lumber yard, for all the materials. One afternoon, the building party begun in the garage. There were lots of drilling, cutting, and wire weaving. Rique used wooden blocks for his massive chandelier design. All blocks were cut into 8"x8" cubes. The blocks were then arranged in a large circle and connected using a metal pipe. The chandelier hangs from three simple steel cables. There is a beautiful contrast between the weight of the blocks versus the lightness of the cables. He installed twelve spot lights in different places of the chandelier. Four of the lights point down, two lights point to the side, and four more point upwards.

Here are the weekly portraits from last week. After a delicious brunch on Sunday, we headed outside for some much need pier photography, of course. Because great scenery makes for great photography, right? Unless, I am the one who is snapping the photos. I am still trying my best to work on the depths of a photography as well as playing with my lenses. But I feel like I still have a long way to go.

Are you a designer? Do you participate in Minted's design challenges? Minted is a design marketplace. Minted sources creative content from a global community of independent artists, then sells the best content in the form of art, home décor, and stationery, directly to consumers. What I like most about participating in Minted's challenges is the fact that each challenge helps me keep the creative juice flowing. They have so many challenges with different topics or different end goals each time. As a designer, designing with a purpose helps me focus and better explore a subject, thus creating better designs. Below is my "Festive Triangles" design, my newest textile pattern for Minted's home collection. With this fabric design, customers can have Minted make napkins, placemats, table runners, lampshades, curtains, and pillows. There is so much to choose from. And to make the costumer's experience even more personalized, this pattern is available in 6 different colors. Visit here, to see all of Trendy Peas' designs on Minted's online shop.
