We are getting festive over here as we prepare to host a New Year’s eve party. This year we are going to put together a selfie booth, so I spent some time yesterday with Bela preparing a backdrop for the booth. It’s a Brazilian tradition to wear white on New Year’s eve for good luck. So this party décor has lots of white, gold and silver. Once we gathered the the tissue paper in the colors we wanted, we cut small sections of the paper in the width we wanted. Then, we cut the fringe on the sides of the paper leaving some space in the middle. Finally, we taped together the fringe pieces to create a long stream. Once the streams were hung, the room became quite festive!
Party season just keeps on going… Oh, how I love this time of the year. Kids are here in their pjs running around the house while I type this. There is still so much to do before we gather tomorrow at my parents’ house. This year we are setting a table for 15! We will be celebrating this Holiday with 8 adults and 7 kids all seating together for a chaotic, loud, and happy Christmas.

We just finished putting together an IKEA diy desk. This was such an easy and fun project to work on. We used left over material we had laying around the house to get this beauty done. A couple of 2×4″ pieces, the same dark-colored stain we used on the kitchen countertops, and an IKEA kitchen cabinet panel we ended up not needing from our recent kitchen renovation.
