A new whale wall decal is coming to the shop soon. I had a couple of customers inquiring about whale wall decals lately, so I thought it was time for me to give it a try. I had a lot of fun creating our new whale friend. My design process for this particular illustration started with a somewhat complex whale shape. I then played with patterns and its shape. And the more I played with it, I just wanted to simplify the illustration. The fewer the lines, the more appealing this little guy was to me. Below you can see four steps leading to the final whale illustration. But believe me, there were way more than only four steps to this design process. I decided to use the whale illustration for a wall decal that can be done in two colors. Below is the final look for the new whale wall decal. One was done in black and aqua and the other one in navy blue and gray. I will also work on art prints with my new whale friend. But right now, I am off to design a wall decal with sailing boats, patterned waves and everything nautical. So, what do you think, should we introduce this little fella to your little guy? Cheers!

What colors would you choose for a gender neutral nursery? Our friend Jeannette West, chose gray and yellow, a very popular color combination these days. Jeannette decided not to find out if she is having a baby boy or a baby girl. What a fun surprise! So when creating her gender neutral nursery she filled the space with objects in gray, yellow, white and green. All surrounded by dark wood furniture and light gray colored walls. We were delighted to see the room adorned with the birds and owls wall decal and the pennants wall decal. It looks very cozy and fun. And we can't wait to meet her baby sometime in April! Thank you so much Jeannette for sharing your photos. You sure got Trendy! For more gender neutral inspiration, visit my Pinterest board here. If you have photos of your space to share with us, please send them to email@example.com. We would love to see what Trendy Peas is bringing to your room.

Choosing artwork for gallery wall, let the fun begin! Decorating can be such a fun process. You just have to allow it to be fun. I usually tend to rush when picking items for a new space. The urge to enjoy the space sometimes is greater than my patience. But when I take my time to decorate any room, the final piece turns out much better. The spaces become more personal and definitely a better reflection of my style and my family. My studio makeover is taking shape very slowly. The dark brown walls were painted a very light off-white color. I spent a lot of hours in this space, creating, processing orders, brainstorming, designing or just surfing the net for inspiration. So I want this space to reflect a little more of myself. I want it to be bright with lots of light and good energy. For now we just have some light walls and oversized IKEA frames to play with it. So it is time to pick some artwork for this gallery wall we put together. Since this studio space will be a studio/playroom, I want to add little things that work not just for me, but for my kids as well. The space will be MOSTLY mine during the week and completely theirs during the weekends. So when I sat down to choose the artwork for my studio's gallery wall, I chose some items from Trendy Peas and some of the kids' artwork. Below are my top six choices. They are all very personal to me. I am not sure if I will be using the beach scene yet. But overall, I like how they look together. I am getting a lot of inspiration for the Trendy Peas' studio from the lovely studio of Joy from Oh Joy. Have you seen it? If not check it out here. It is bright, colorful and full of life! A great place to be inspired and get creative. I will be posting photos of this makeover little by little. So check back often. The Dream Big art print by Trendy Peas and Small Fry Blog. I am so happy to see this photo by Nicole from the wonderful blog Small Fry, a children's lifestyle blog. Nicole decided to frame the Dream Big art print with a bold black frame. She placed the frame on a white shelf along with colorful and unique items. Leaning against the wall, the Dream Big art print is surrounded by colorful Miroslav Sasek's books. Nicole bought most of the books while traveling and some she bought on Amazon. The cute rainbow décor is from an Etsy shop called Clifford and Sons, and the pirates are by Goose Grease. This photo is so darling. Thank you so much Nicole for sharing this picture with us. You sure got Trendy! If you have photos of your space to share with us, please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to see what Trendy Peas is bringing to your room.

The dots wall decal, aka confetti wall decal, is a great decor option for a modern room. Some nurseries will have a woodland theme. Other butterflies, fairies or little birdies theme. Some will follow the nautical or sports theme. But what about that space that wants to be cute, fun, and personal, without having a theme? To make it modern, I say go geometrical. Play with shapes and colors. The confetti wall decal is an easy way to add some fun to any space. This wall decal set can be done with 2 of 19 colors. It is super easy to find a good color to match a nursery, kids' room, or playroom. It works anywhere and for anyone really. And that is why I chose the confetti wall decal when designing my niece's room. Olivia's room has a turquoise wall, colorful wall dots and white furniture mixed with wood. The room is not done yet, but as soon as we finish putting it all together, I will be posting pictures here. And I think you will agree that no theme sometimes is the way to go. Some good options of wall decals for a room without themes is the Little Peaks wall decal and the Pennants wall decal. So, what do you prefer? Theme or no theme at all?
