Last weekend we had a taste of spring with temperatures in the 60’s. The kids were outside eating popsicles and riding bikes. We had a taste, a very sweet and short taste of Spring. Today we are back to 26˚! My house feels cold. So cold. I feel like putting the fire on and making bright prints to warm this space up. How about you? Are you facing this cold weather as well, or the terrible rain in California? To brighten up your day, download our new print, “You are my sunshine”. It is FREE!
This design will be available as 8×10, 11×14 and 16×20 paper prints, framed like the photo above or unframed. It will also be available on the site as 10×10 and 20×20 canvasses. Check back soon. In the meantime, enjoy your free printable!
I have been so inspired by James Kicinski McCoy, a writer and photographer, product designer and the editor and blogger of Bleubird. She captures one photo per week of her beautiful kids. And she has four little darlings! I am lucky if I capture one picture a month of my kids. But since they grow and change so fast, I thought I would change that. I enjoy taking pictures and learning more and more about photography. So my new goal now is to dedicate a little part of this blog to my little moments with my kids. That one-on-one time that I get to spend with each one of them that it doesn’t seem to happen often enough. Even if it is just that cheesy moment when I say: “say cheese” and our eyes meet for that one second. It doesn’t have to be anything too special. It can be ordinary. Little parts of our routine. Because once I captured that moment, I will be able to go back there anytime. Have you been taking pictures of your kiddos?

Black in the nursery, a DO or a DON’T? Lately I have been seeing a lot of black being used in nurseries and kids’ rooms. You can go from entire walls covered in black chalk paint to simple black details against white walls. And it works. It can really work. It is also a great color to use if you are creating a gender neutral space. So, after getting inspired by so many spaces like this one here and this one here, I thought it was time to introduce some black to Trendy Peas‘ designs. Right?

We are busy finishing up details for our new hearts wall decal. I wanted to create some heart wall decals that could be used as a charming wallpaper pattern. This wall decal set includes 40 hearts. Each heart measures approximated 2.5 inches high. To make this design unique, I am mixing three different patterns along with solid colored hearts. I chose the patterns for this wall decal set while thinking about my family. So the solid color is for my husband Alex, the first of my four loves. My very solid best friend. The polka dotted one represents my wild and smiley Bela, who somehow is turning seven today. The stripped pattern is for Marcus, so charming and so strong headed. No curves allowed on this one. And the last pattern goes to my full of personality little Victor. What an addition to our family. Each pattern has its own uniqueness, but together, they make a wall very complete.
We are planning on having this heart wall decal ready for sale on Valentine’s Day with a wonderful 20% off just for you. If you like how this design is shaping up, visit us back on the 14th to see the final design.

What makes a playroom design a good one? I am in the process of turning my updated home studio into a playroom and office space. So when Jennifer, from Jennifer Finch Photography sent us her gorgeous new playroom, I knew I had found some great inspiration.
I love the lighting in this space and the contrast between the white furniture and the bold colorful prints on the wall. The storage space is great. The kids can reach in easily for play and clean up. The pom pom clouds and rain drops is such a great addition to the room. This feels like a great place for the kids to run around or sit down to do crafts or read books.
I will definitely create a gallery wall in my office. I think Jennifer’s picks for her frames worked so well together. And I loved to see one of my prints from Printable Art Posters in this playroom. Thank you so much Jennifer for sharing with us your amazing new playroom.
